Reviving the Spirit of Horse Racing in Urban Communities

At Aurora Racing Club, our mission is to reignite the presence of horse racing in urban environments and reconnect diverse communities that have become detached from the sport and the wider equine industry. We are working closely with Eddie Fitzpatrick of Coolmore Stud, whose extensive history and influence within one of the world’s leading breeding operations bring extraordinary value to our vision.
Eddie has played a key role in developing and managing some of the most successful bloodlines in modern racing, and his strategic insight strengthens every aspect of Aurora Racing’s approach.

Across the world, racecourses, training yards, and equine facilities are disappearing due to short-sighted development and poor planning. Aurora Racing, supported by Eddie Fitzpatrick’s leadership and Coolmore’s generational expertise is building a sustainable and commercially viable blueprint to reverse these trends, protecting racing’s legacy while creating new opportunities for future generations.

What Makes Us Different

While Aurora Racing Club operates as a business, our foundation is altruistic. We are committed to giving members a long-term, functional foothold in the racing industry, not just as spectators but as active participants and stakeholders.

Our Vision and Model

Your weekly membership does more than give you a share in a racehorse, it helps rebuild equine infrastructure in urban areas that have long been forgotten by the industry.

Our commercial strategy involves developing and managing racehorses with shared ownership benefits. Members share in prize money, horse sales, stallion syndications, and foal shares
As Aurora Racing grows, we’ll establish training and racing facilities accessible to members, including:

-
Affordable access for up-and-coming trainers
-
A dedicated clubhouse, bar, and social hub
-
Future expansions into other equine disciplines to create broader participation pathways

Our goal is to build a system inspired by successful American models, fostering both community engagement and sustainable growth within Irish racing.

Our Motivation

Whether you live a life of affluence or face everyday challenges, time and opportunity matter equally. Around the world, major cities are losing their character and social fabric to overdevelopment — and horse racing has been one of its silent casualties.

In Dublin alone, we’ve seen the loss of historic venues such as Goffs, The Phoenix Park Racecourse, and its training grounds (the Fifteen Acres). Even today, several old racing yards lie dormant fenced off, unused, and forgotten for decades.

At Aurora Racing, we believe that not every city child dreams of an office job, some dream of horses, of racing, of something different. Our mission is to rekindle that spark, preserve our city’s equine heritage, and pass the tradition on to the next generation.

I have always wanted to own a race horse but could never afford it, Aurora has given me this chance.
The excitement on race day is electric and I've even been in the parade ring before our horse ran. Would recommend to any Horse racing lover
